Carl Friedrich, CFA, FRM, EA, CFP®
Managing Partner
Carl is a Managing Partner of Excelsior’s General Partner and Advisor(*), focused on investment due diligence, with twenty-five years of industry experience. He has an extensive background in portfolio management and client advisory services, recently serving as Senior Managing Director with FCE Group and previously Chief Investment Officer of Piermont Group. Carl co-launched the Equities Relative Value Team at Goldman Sachs, where he advised and traded for hedge fund clients from 2001 to 2009. Earlier in his career, Carl also worked as a derivatives trader and investment banking analyst. Carl holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Business Analytics from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Carl is a CFA® charterholder, Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Enrolled Agent (EA), and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional (CFP®). ................................
Stephen Perrino, CPA
Managing Partner
Steve is a Managing Partner of Excelsior’s General Partner and Advisor(*), focused on operational due diligence, with thirty years of industry experience. He has a long tenure in accounting and operations, and recently serving as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for FCE Group since 2009. In addition, he was primary responsibility for operational due diligence for the firm’s investment activities. Prior to joining FCE Group, Steve spent eight years as the CFO for Investor Select Advisors, where he was responsible for accounting and compliance for their fund of funds. Previously Steve spent seven years with Lehman Brothers, where he served as VP and CFO of a private client services asset management division. He began his career with Coopers & Lybrand in New York, where he worked with a variety of financial services companies. Steve received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Steve is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
